HOT CANUCKS: I just picked up Hello! Canada’s 50 Most Beautiful People issue, featuring Shania Twain on the cover. While the newly single, always gorgeous singer has graced FLARE’s cover twice before in Hello’s issue you’ll find some serious eye candy including Halle Berry’s hunky baby-daddy Gabriel Aubry, ScarJo’s main squeeze Ryan Reynolds, and Lost beauty Evangeline Lilly. -A.B

Olly and Suzi
ART STARS: I saw a brilliant documentary last night called Wild Art: Olly and Suzi. It tracks the artistic process of British nature artists Olly and Suzi. It was fascinating on a couple of levels. Firstly, the fact that they share a canvas and paint simultaneously is pretty impressive. And then there is the fact that they paint predators in their natural environments with little/no barriers between themselves and their subjects. It’s screening again on Friday May 9 at 2:30pm. Twilight Motel
LOVE AT THE TWILIGHT MOTEL: Alison Rose’s Love at the Twilight Motel has been scoring big points with critics at this year’s hotdocs festival. So I was eager to check it out last night. The flick takes us into the under belly of motel culture to reveal a colourful group of characters all looking for one thing: sex. However, the paths bringing them here vary drastically. Rose’s inside access will definitely satisfy your inner voyeur, but not without consequences. Some of the characters’ touching confessionals won’t be easy to shake. Find out why Natalie Portman and Zooey Deschanel rave about this Lower East Side shop in McKenna’s first cookbook, BabyCakes: Vegan, Gluten-Free, and (Mostly) Sugar-Free Recipes from New York’s Most Talked About Bakery (Random House). -Erica Cupido, FLARE Intern

John Mayer
TWITTER NERVOSA I think if I spent the day with John Mayer, he would ignore me because he’s always tweeting his face off (oh, the luxury of being a pop star…). I am one of the many following him on Twitter and find him very funny so maybe virtual John Mayer would be better than the real one. His new album seems to be shaping up to be quite an event. I think I am a new fan. —Elio Iannacci
