A Definitive List of Who Taylor Swift Will Probs Shade in Her New Album

Oh how shady it will be…

Sarah Trumbley

It’s been an exciting week for the Swifties of the world. On Wednesday Taylor Swift announced the release date and cover art for her newest album ReputationNovember 10 you guys!!!—and last night she dropped the first single, “Look What You Made Me Do.” And as you can guess, people are freaking tf out. We too are v. excited about all the recent T-Swift news and while we are looking forward to new music from the pop star, we’re more excited for the inevitable shade that will be allll over this album. It’s been three years since Taylor released 1989, which very obviously referenced her beefs with Katy Perry and Harry Styles, and a lot (I mean a lot) of Grade A dramz has accumulated since then. So, while you impatiently await Reputation‘s release date—and play “Look What You Made Me Do” on repeat—here’s a list of peeps Taylor will probs give a not-so-friendly shoutout in her new album. Because, duh, it’s what she does best.

Calvin Harris (duh)

The beautiful ’ship between Taylor Swift and Calvin Harris was one for the ages. They had a swoon-worthy love that lasted for a record-breaking (for Tay Tay) 15 months until they split, and in turn, split our hearts in two. The former lovers remained civil for like, five mins until things got suuuper ugly after news broke that Tay had a big part in writing Calvin’s collabo with Rihanna, “This Is What You Came For.” And that’s when SHIT WENT DOWN. The dreamy DJ admitted that yes, his pop star ex GF had written the song but they had planned to keep it secret, and then proceeded to throw Taylor THE shadiest tweets (which have obv since been deleted) in the history of shade—which sparked the trending hashtag #TaylorSwiftIsOver and motivated fans to spam her social media with snake emojis. (If you haven’t already caught on, this is defs the reason for the snake vids all over her Instagram rn).

One tweet targeted her new ’ship with Tom Hiddleston: “I figure if you’re happy in your new relationship you should focus on that instead of trying to tear your ex bf down for something to do.”

And then he brought her “Bad Blood” lyrics—“rub it in so deep, salt in the wound like you’re laughing right at me”—to literal life when he tweeted about her ongoing feud with Katy Perry: “I know you’re off tour and you need someone new to try and bury like Katy ETC but I’m not that guy, sorry. I won’t allow it.” OUCH Calvin, that one stung. If you think that won’t get you half an album of songs written about you, you obv don’t know the powers of the Shade Queen.

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West (duh x 2)*

TBH we wouldn’t be surprised if p. much every song on T-Swizzle’s new album was about Kimye. Her feud with the rapper has been ongoing since he hijacked her Best Female Video award speech at the 2009 VMAs and has already resulted in one song; “Innocent” from her Speak Now album. And shizz really hit the fan in 2016 when Kanye released his song “Famous” with the lyrics “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex. Why? I made that bitch famous,” a line which he said he had gotten T-Swift’s blessing for over the phone. You guys know the story; Taylor denied knowing about the lyrics and then momma bear Kim K stepped in to call bullshit on her and posted a series of videos to her Snapchat of said phone call proving that she had in fact known about the lyric and told Kanye to “go with whatever line you think is better.”

Oh, and Kim also posted this obviously Taylor-directed tweet on #NationalSnakeDay:

People have also been speculating that the font used on Taylor’s album cover is the same font used on Kanye’s Saint Pablo tour merch. And if this is true, let us all bow down the Queen of Shade because that is a straight-up power move.

Katy Perry

The feud between Taylor Swift and Katy Perry is iconic. It’s been a thing since 2012 and has only gotten shadier with every passing year. And whenever Taylor is caught up in dramz (which let’s be honest, is pretty often) we can always count on good ol’ Katy Perry for a Taylor-inspired Twitter clapback, whether it involves her or not. As we already know, our girl Taylor has already written one song about her arch nemesis—“Bad Blood”—and now fans are saying that Katy Perry’s new song “Swish Swish” is one hundo p about Swift.

And let’s not forget that Taylor put her songs back on Spotify THE SAME DAY Katy Perry dropped her new album. Clearly the claws are still out and they’re not going away anytime soon.

Lorde

Lorde recently ruffled some feathers when she made it clear that she’s *not* a part Taylor’s carefully assembled squad during an interview with Australian Yahoo affiliate Sunrise, where she said, “I don’t hang out with these people at all… You know, you make friends in different places, but I think for the most part I’m not, like, calling my idols for advice necessarily.” She also compared being friends with famous celebs like Taylor Swift to having a friend with an autoimmune disease during an interview with The Guardian. So it’s safe to say Lorde gave Taylor the… green light to throw her some serious shade in her new album. Maybe in the form of a song named “Betrayal” or “Cut From the Squad”?

Demi Lovato

The “Tell Me You Love Me” singer has had it out for Taylor Swift ever since she stole her BFF Selena Gomez and recruited her into the T-Swift squad life. But the most recent addition to their feud was during Kesha’s lawsuit against producer Dr. Luke. Celebs all over the world spoke out in support of Kesha, minus Taylor Swift, and that pissed Demi right off. So naturally she tweeted a not-so-subtle clapback regarding Swift’s silence: “I’m also ready for self-proclaimed feminists to start speaking out or taking action for women’s rights.” The day after—when it was revealed Taylor had given $250,000 to help Kesha with her legal fees—she *still* wasn’t impressed and tweeted this: “Take something to Capitol Hill or actually speak about something and then I’ll be impressed.”

We also can’t help but notice the fact that they both just announced their new albums on the same freaking day. Oh yeah, there’s definitely going to be some shade thrown Demi’s way in this new album.

Tom Hiddleston

This one’s simple: he’s an ex-BF that she hasn’t written a song about yet. So, duh there will defs be at least one Hiddleswift themed song on the album. It’s what she does.

*If you haven’t yet, check out the new single which is so obviously a dig at Kanye
