Shad London, Ontario hip-hop artist Shad has landed himself a record deal. After releasing ‘When This Is Over’ in 2005, Shad became a major player in Ontario’s indie music scene, opening up for such acts as Cadence Weapon, Lupe Fiasco and Common – that’s right, Common – and just recently, Black Box Recording (a new sub-label of Universal) has scooped up the soon-to-be-rap superstar.
With his incredible range, Shad (also known as Shad K), knocks audiences out across the board as he effortlessly swaps between freestyle flows and acoustic guitar strumming, and the new school talent isn’t afraid to combine the two, which serves up a sound that’s incredibly fresh. Look for Shad’s new record towards the end of the summer, and in the meantime, watch for his next stop in your city at www.myspace.com/shad.
