It seems that Simon Cowell has a soft spot for Paula Abdul after all. Cowell has said that he wants Abdul back at his side as a judge for the upcoming American edition of his U.K.-import singing competition The X Factor. The former American Idol judge revealed his true feelings about Abdul to website Deadline Hollywood. “I missed her the second she left [American Idol],” he said. “Always loved working with her, even though she can be a pain.”
Discussion has not begun as of yet with Abdul but she’s not the only lady he’s got his eye on for the judging panel. British pop singer Cheryl Cole is Cowell’s other choice to round out the show’s four person judging panel, alongside producer L.A. Reid.
Plenty of names have been bounced around as to who will be judging the competition, including Mariah Carey, Nicki Minaj, Jessica Simpson and Nicole Scherzinger. The former lead Pussycat is now the rumoured frontrunner to host.–Ashley Singh
