Up in the Air (2009)
She technically made her debut in little-seen 2003 musical comedy Camp and was maybe the best part of the first Twilight flick but she really made an impact alongside George Clooney in Jason Reitman’s dramedy. She earned a supporting actress nomination from all the big awards-giving bodies (Golden Globes, Oscars, SAG, BAFTA) for playing Natalie Keener (Reitman is not one for subtlety) an ambitious, no-nonsense HR consultant who forms an unlikely friendship with Clooney’s lone wolf. It was the kind of performance that proved Kendrick was one to watch.
