Avengers star (and FLARE‘s May cover girl) Scarlett Johansson received a star on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame today. The 27-year-old actress accepted the 2,470th star wearing a black and white look from Preen’s fall 2012 collection. The form-fitting look was a modern mis-matched mix of a daisy-print top and a graphic skirt, and looked just right with the star’s retro chignon.
Johansson was being honoured for her nearly 20-year career in film, a heady accomplishment, especially so for a woman in her twenties. The New York native transitioned from child star to ingenue with a breakout role in 2003’s Lost in Translation and became known for critically acclaimed performances from working with the likes of Woody Allen. Her role as Natasha Romanoff, a.k.a. The Black Widow, in The Avengers lands the actress in the arena of blockbuster star. (She first appeared as the comic book superhero in 2010’s Iron Man 2.) Johansson was accompanied to Walk of Fame ceremony outside Madame Tussauds Hollywood by her Avengers co-star Jeremy Renner, and surely the timing of the festivities was no accident—the highly-anticipated action flick comes out on Friday.
