Today’s royal wedding had a star-studded audience looking on as Willy and Katie exchanged vows.  We didn’t get to be there in person (maybe when Harry gets hitched…), but these lucky celebs got a coveted seat in Westminster Abbey.

David and Victoria Beckham: David and a very pregnant (with her fourth child) Victoria Beckham both flew into London from L.A. to attend the royal nuptials (David reportedly missed his practice with his soccer team the LA Galaxy). “Today’s ceremony was beautiful and heartfelt,” the couple said in a statement to Us Weekly. “Catherine looked wonderfully elegant and we were honoured to be part of such a special, historical day for our country.  We wish Catherine and William much love and happiness for the future.” Victoria, who has been keeping herself busy lately with her signature clothing line, also tweeted “London looks beautiful!!! We are so proud to be British! X VB x.”

Elton John and David Furnish: Perhaps the most expected celebrity to attend the ceremony was iconic British singer Elton John, a dear and close friend to Princess Diana. He attended with his partner David Furnish. The “Candle In The Wind” singer had front row seats at the event. When asked for comment by BBC Radio he replied, “This isn’t the Oscars.”

Guy Ritchie: Contrary to rumours that claimed he was not allowed a plus one, English filmmaker, and former hubby to Madonna, Guy Ritchie, went to the wedding with pregnant girlfriend Jacqui Ainsley. Looking handsome in a tux with tails, the Snatch director, who is a friend of William and Kate’s, has two upcoming films, Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows and Excalibur.

Joss Stone: Soulful singer Joss Stone attended in a simple pink shift dress and jacket, but didn’t totally leave her signature bohemian look at home: she kept her nose ring in.  Stone had been asked by Princes William and Harry to perform at Princess Diana’s Memorial concert at Wembley Arena back in 2007 as she is among their fave artists. The Brit crooner will be touring in Europe this summer and just released her new single “Back in Style.”

Mario Testino: World renowned fashion photographer Mario Testino, who was Princess Diana’s favourite photographer, was also invited as he is also the royal couple’s portraitist. Testino shot the famous engagement photos of Will and Kate and also shot the final black and white photo of the couple before their wedding day. The royal couple rewarded him for his hard work by letting him enjoy the day rather than shooting it.–Ashley Singh
