No green beer goggles or exaggerated green leprechaun hats for the Duchess of Cambridge. Kate Middleton and Prince William attended the St Patrick’s Day parade at Mons Barracks in Aldershot in style, of course. She wore a forest green Emilia Wickstead coatdress, which is becoming a St Paddy’s day tradition for the royal, black Episode heels, Cornelia James black wool gloves and in lieu of the holiday she wore the Queen’s Mother’s golden three-leaf clover brooch and a spring of shamrock was pinned to her coat.

While the five month pregnant royal exuded her usual elegance, she must have momentarily lost her grace. The heel from her Episode shoes got stuck in a grate, but wardrobe malfunctions happen to the very best of us, and she remained cool and composed, obviously! However, she did let it slip to one of the soldiers that she’s hoping for a boy. With Will wishing for a girl, either they’re in denial of the baby’s gender, or they want to keep that secret all to themselves.
