In the ’80s, Pantene came out with their now-famous slogan “Don’t hate me because I’m beautiful.” Today, that idea seems a little, well, one-dimensional. To better reflect the powerhouse babes of this decade, the haircare company is updating the phrase: “Don’t hate me because I’m strong.” To embody the mantra, the brand picked a new spokesperson who’s mad strong physically and beyond, Olympic medalist and UFC star Ronda Rousey.
Huh? If you’re shocked by the news, Rousey’s already one step ahead of you. “I’m fully aware that I might not be the first person people think of to collaborate with a beauty brand,” the 29-year-old said in a press release, adding that she’s been called “savage” and “Miss Man” because of her muscular build. “Strong, successful women are dominating society now more than ever, which still makes people uncomfortable,” said Rousey. So why would a MMA fighter want to turn beauty queen? Rousey hopes to empower women to “break gender barriers, break the glass ceiling and never settle.” She’s no do-nothing bitch after all.

On December 30, Rouse will make her return to the octagon for UFC 207. Watch her get into fight mode in her first Pantene commercial (P.S. That high kick tho):
