In just five years Kate and Laura Mulleavy, the design duo behind Rodarte, have become front-runners in the fashion scene. Their shows are one of the most highly anticipated at New York Fashion Week, they have a long list of celebrity clients, and they recently designed costumes for Natalie Portman in the ballet drama Black Swan. Looks like all their hard work has paid off, last night the sisters became the first fashion designers to be honoured with a National Art Award from Americans for the Arts in New York.
