At last night’s premieres of All Is Lost and Only God Forgives, Petra Nemcova, Zhang Ziyi and Jessica Chastain called in truckloads of embellishment: sequins, beading, sparkle, shimmer and shine. We can only guess what some of the gowns weighed, but we’re happy these women shouldered the burden to give us eye candy to relish this morning.

Who: Petra Nemcova

What: A sparkling blush Elie Saab Couture Spring 2012 frock with Chopard earrings and an Elie Saab clutch

What We Love: The supermodel looks magical—like a mermaid encrusted with starfish and coral

Who: Zhang Ziyi

What: A gold and black sequined Chanel Couture Fall 2009 strapless gown with long train, plus Chanel Joallierie jewellery, a Ferragamo Faberge egg clutch and Jimmy Choo heels

What We Love: The shape! Oversized peplum, tube skirt and trailing swathes of black and navy fabric make for a couture sensation.

Who: Jessica Chastain

What: An elaborate custom Givenchy by Riccardo Tisci gown and zero accessories (except for shoes, of course)

What We Love: Chastain knows that a heavily bedazzled gown requires no additional adornment
