Singer Christina Perri, who ruled the radio this summer with her ballad “Jar of Hearts,” is living the TwiHard dream. Since writing the song “A Thousand Years” for the Breaking Dawn: Part One soundtrack, the 25-year-old has gone from Team Edward cheerleader to a guest on the cast’s own private jet, flying to premieres around the world.
The film picks up the story at one of Perri’s favourite parts. “It’s the moment that we, all us TwiHards, have been waiting for,” she says. “You’ve got the wedding and the honeymoon. It’s the climax of the series.” In a conversation with Flare.com, Perri geeks out over the hotly anticipated film.
Do you have a preference between Edward and Jacob?
Well, if you’re a true TwiHard, you would know that she ends up with Edward, so what was the point with Jacob.
Is there anything that you like about Edward specifically?
I’m in love with the character. I don’t know if I would be totally in love with Robert Pattinson. I’m assuming I would. He seems like a babe in real life. But I’m just going to keep my little fantasy separate.
What word would you use to describe the wedding dress?
I would say “breathtaking.” But you realize I can’t say anymore. I’m going to get shot.
Your album Lovestrong is emotionally heartwrenchingly heartbreaking.
Where are you in your love life now?
I’m in this super cheesy, lovey dovey relationship with a super amazing dude.
What advice would you give to other people who want to follow in your footsteps?
I can remember specifically wanting to give up like 20 times before everything happened for me, and I had no idea that just right beyond sticking it through that the door to my future, to all these amazing things, is right there. So I always tell people when it’s absolutely most hardest and you want to quit the most is the moment not to.
