Louis Vuitton’s spring 2013 collection has had quite the red carpet immediacy. Judging by the number of celebs rolling out in the ruler-ready look, the collection’s checkerboard print, which seems to have adopted its graphic presence from the house’s Damier template, is easily a testament to Marc Jacobs’ agenda-setting talents.
Giving us a first look at the checks on the carpet was Kristen Stewart, while promoting Breaking Dawn Part 2 in Japan. The monochrome checked romper stayed true to Stewart’s post-Pattinson youthful but daring style (which we’re totally loving!), and was topped off with her signature tousled waves and khol-rimmed eyes.
Kerry Washington pulled out all the stops for the Django Unchained photocall in Berlin, playing up the neutral-tones of her calf-length dress with dainty accessories. Washington’s mod hair and white Vuitton headband were reminiscent of models on the ready-to-wear runway.
Kirsten Dunst went for understated luxury at the Art of Elysium Heaven Gala. Her column dress in the instantly recognizable print featured a square neckline and open back. The brown and ivory checks were complimented by neutral makeup and barely-touched tresses for a look that wowed without overpowering.
Jessica Alba is the last to follow suit (thus far) attending a Golden Globe after party in the sequined-chequered monochrome midi. Her sophisticated side-swept bun and bold red lips put a modern spin on the sixties-ish shape.
