Nominations for SAG Awards Announced

The nominations for the SAG Awards were announced today.

On the heels of this week’s Golden Globe nominations, Angie Harmon and Rosario Dawson announced the noms for the 17th Screen Actor’s Guild Awards today, further heating up speculation about the upcoming awards season.

The King’s Speech and The Fighter tied for first with four nominations apiece, including a best actor nod for Colin Firth.

Christopher Nolan’s mind bender Inception was barely recognized, with only one nomination for stunts. Michelle Williams and Ryan Gosling were noticeably shut out, receiving no recognition for their controversial romantic drama Blue Valentine, and unlike with the Golden Globes, The Tourist and Burlesque were nowhere to be seen.

The SAG Awards are a decent predictor for who will take home an Oscar, but we’ll have to wait until January 25 for those nominations. The SAG Awards air on Sunday, January 30.
