“The most amazing feeling I feel / Words can’t describe the feeling, for real / Maybe I paint the sky blue / My greatest creation was you: Glory,” raps Jay-Z in his new track Glory dedicated to baby Blue Ivy Carter.
Only days after the birth of Béyonce and Jay-Z’s baby girl, hip-hops finest dropped a new song that reveals more than sweet lyrics and odes to his newborn:
1. Blue: The name is said to be inspired by his album Blueprint.
2. Ivy: As previously revealed, the name Ivy comes from the Roman numerals for four. The number four represents the birth dates for Béyonce and Jay-Z, as well as the date of their marriage.
3. Miscarriage: “False alarms and false starts / All made better by the sound of your heart.” Here the rapper alludes to a miscarriage.
4. Baby #2: “I wreak havoc on the world, get ready for part 2.” Jay-Z refers to plans for another baby after Blue.
5. Conceived in Paris: “But you was made in Paris”
