Tyra Banks won’t be smizing today. It’s been announced that supermodel Naomi Campbell is set to host a new reality competition called The Face, to be aired on the Oxygen network.

A group of aspiring models will compete to become a spokesperson for a renowned brand, much like Tyra Banks’ guilty pleasure of a show America’s Next Top Model (except The Face might actually land the winner a job).

Campbell will join the series as one of three supermodel coaches. The hopefuls will be split into three teams, each led by a supermodel coach, and thrown into a slew of assignments including photo shoots, runway and commercials. Only one winner will be picked as the brand ambassador.

“I am looking forward to working in partnership with Oxygen and Shine America to discover the next beautiful face of the modeling world,” said Campbell. “With The Face the audience will get a real insider¹s look at this exciting industry that has been so good to me.”

Known for her rivalry with Banks, which she claims is in the past, Campbell’s series is certainly well-timed: Top Model has been suffering from low ratings and musical chairs on the judging panel (Kelly Cutrone in, Jay Manuel, J. Alexander and Nigel Barker out!). This news essentially means Tyra better get ready for some healthy competition or start sharpening those fangs. Either or, it will be a supermodel showdown.
