Gorgeous human being and Black Panther star Michael B. Jordan was recently made fun of on Twitter for his height, living with his parents and liking anime—something the actor did not appreciate. In a mic-drop response, Jordan clapped back at the online troll with his correct height (6 ft. OKAY?!) and said his parents live with him. But before you laugh at Jordan’s living arrangement, it’s important to know his family’s situation.
First of All I’m 6ft and they live with ME, put some respeck on my name. LOL…aaaand goku & naruto are real ones lol https://t.co/QspyHD2zwH

Jordan’s mom Donna has lupus, an autoimmune inflammatory disease that can affect any organ in the body, according to Lupus Canada. While symptoms vary from person to person, they may include fatigue, arthritis, sharp chest pain and even seizures. Depending on the severity of the condition, people living with lupus may need assistance—and living with family certainly helps. “[My mom’s] always smiling even when I know she’s not feeling her best,” Jordan told Essence in 2014. “She just moved up to Los Angeles a couple months ago, so she’s closer to me now.” Jordan is also involved in the fight to find a cure for the disease, and even hosted a lupus benefit in 2017 as a Lupus L.A. ambassador. “This event is to celebrate the strength of my mother, Donna Jordan, who thrives with Lupus as a result of the incredible services provided to her by Lupus L.A.,” he said of the charity event.
But Jordan’s mom is not the only one who has health issues. “My Dad… he’s a diabetic and has complications with that from time to time,” Jordan also told Essence. “Being grateful for the things I have, family that I have around. It always kind of puts things in perspective for me.”
Apart from wanting to be physically close to his parents, Jordan is also happy that he can help them live in a beautiful house. “Look, it’s every kid’s dream, to buy their mom and dad a house,” he told the The Times. Plus, his family keeps him company in his California mansion, as we saw in his Vogue 73 questions video. In the adorable vid, Jordan kissed his mom while she cooked in the kitchen and performed a secret handshake with his dad as he barbecued. If that’s not family goals, I don’t know what is.
Keep on being amazing, Michael.
