The event: L’Oréal Fashion Week, a weeklong fashion extravaganza held at the Liberty Grand in Toronto

The dealio: It’s the most-hyped platform for Canuck designers to display their Fall ’06 collections.

The vibe: Chilled out. The dress code was easy chic—denim and heels flooded the front row. Style mosaic: Magazine editors and TV personalities rubbed designer bags with fashionistas.

The notables: Izzy Camilleri wowed the crowd with her goth-meets-KISS leather blowout. Other faves included David Dixon, Joeffer Caoc and Comrags.

The socialites: Pink Tartan didn’t disappoint, providing its runway with rich, jewel-toned equestrian-influenced numbers. To celebrate, there was a much-ado after-party at Eight Below.

The newbies: Fantine was the hot newcomer, offering well-tailored, easy-to-wear day-to-night pieces.
