After receiving some harsh criticism over her recent weight gain, Lady Gaga is fighting back. The “Born This Way” singer posted a photo of herself Tuesday dressed in only her yellow underwear on her fan site littlemonsters.com’s new “A Body Revolution 2013” page. The photo was captioned as, “Bulimia and anorexia since I was 15.”

Gaga followed up the revealing image with several others. In one photo, Gaga reveals her figure from the side and the tattoos she has on the left side of her body alongside the caption, “To Inspire Bravery.” In another, she arches her back, with a caption reading, “But today I joined the BODY REVOLUTION.” The last photo shows Gaga from behind, captioned, “and BREED some m@therf*cking COMPASSION.”

The confession has encouraged many of her fans to post their own photos alongside stories of struggle, pride and gratitude for Lady Gaga’s courage on the fan site/social media hub. In turn, the star has tweeted some of the images posted on the site in support of her Little Monsters, calling them brave and sexy.

With thousands of submissions on the site, Gaga opened up and wrote a heartfelt post on Tuesday.

“My weight/loss/gain since I was [a] child has tormented me,” she wrote on her site. “No amount of help has ever healed my pain about it. But YOU have… I am not going to go on a psycho-spree because of scrutiny. This is who I am. And I am proud at any size. And I love you, and want you to be proud in any form you may take as well. Please don’t look for kindness in critics, go where you know the gold is. Here, in out hearts.”—Portia Baladad
