Kate Middleton may be the Duchess of Cambridge, but in the year since she wed Prince William, she’s emerged as the queen of style.
The Duchess was recently seen on a charity visit at East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices in East England wearing a bracelet made by the mother of English folk singer Ed Sheeran. The 21-year-old “A Team” singer grew up not far from the Hospice. “My mom makes bracelets for them to sell for charity,” he told FLARE. “And it ended up [Middleton] wore one.”
“Big up Kate Middleton, who is wearing some of my mum’s homemade jewellery!” Sheeran tweeted on March 20th. The orange and purple beaded bracelet is joined together by four metallic round stones that read EACH – standing for East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices.
The singer might get a chance to meet Middleton herself. He’ll perform at the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee concert alongside Paul McCartney, Elton John and Jessie J. The singer joked that he is “going to bring a sack full of my mom’s jewellery and just load [Middleton] up with it.”
Playing the Diamond Jubilee holds special significance for the musician. “I watched Eric Clapton many years ago on TV [perform at the Golden Jubilee] and I was like, ‘sick, I’m going to get a guitar’,” he says. “And that is when I started.”— Erin Fitzsimmons with files from Ryan Porter
