To follow up his Cruel Summer projects (the album and the film), rapper Kanye West has just dropped the teaser trailer for Cruel Winter.
The 53-second trailer doesn’t give much away in terms of plot. It’s primarily cut with artsy shots of a lake and its surrounding area with a voice-over talking about a “new world order.”
By “new world order,” we hope the mysterious voice is really referring to DONDA, West’s Twitter-rant-turned-reality creative company. In the aforementioned rant, West promised that the company would change the world.

We also hope that the trailer means a new album from West and his music friends, like John Legend, Pusha T, and Jay-Z (just to name a few). Cruel Summer was just too good to leave behind. —Portia Baladad

Update: To the sound of breaking hearts of faithful Kanye watchers, the Cruel Winter turned out to be a fake. Despite the “copyright DONDA” caption, the clip’s director, Austin Christianson, tells Fuse that Kanye and company had nothing to do with it. The director says the independently made video was a concept trailer that was being used to pitch ideas. The video has since been removed from his Youtube and Vimeo pages.

Christianson has re-mixed a number of fake videos on his website, including a commercial of Blake Lively for Chanel’s Mademoiselle fragrance and music video for Wiz Khalifa’s song, “Cameras.”
