Record scratch… apparently #Youngledore is having a moment right now, and that’s because two-time Academy Award nominee Jude Law has just been cast as everyone’s favourite beloved granddad Professor Albus Dumbledore in the newest Fantastic Beasts sequel. From what we can deduce, the Young Pope star will play a younger version of the kindly old Hogwarts Headmaster in a role that J.K. Rowling has previously hinted will be openly gay and explore the more challenging and formative years of his life.

This will be the second film in the five-part series based on the original books by J. K. Rowling. The first film reeled in a whopping $813 million at the box office and received over 30 award nominations. Production on the next Fantastic Beasts film is set to begin this summer, with a release scheduled for November next year. Eddie Redmayne will return as Newt Scamander and Johnny Depp has been cast as Gellert Grindelwald.

We never thought we’d think of Albus Dumbledore as dreamy, but Jude Law is playing him so here we are. https://t.co/HYpyrriINc pic.twitter.com/tnMGfA3nl0
