By now you’re familiar with Time’s Up—a coalition of more than 300 women in Hollywood that aims to take action against sexual assault, harassment and inequality in the workplace—which launched on January 1 and played a major role at the 2018 Golden Globes.
In keeping with Golden Globes tradish, all the most famous famouses—adhering to the mandated all-black dress code—hit the carpet and used their time in the spotlight to highlight the issues which matter most to them. Unsurprisingly, almost all of the women used the time to talk about Time’s Up, with some of the celebs even taking activists as their dates. Needless to say, the show was brimming with inspiration and hope for a better future.
Here, 8 of the most chill-inducing quotes from the ladies who stole the show at the Golden Globes.
Emma Watson and Marai Larasi
“We’re wearing black because this is a moment in time. This is not the beginning of a movement or the end of a movement, but it’s a moment in time where we stand in solidarity with women across all spheres of life, with women across industries, basically saying time’s up on violence against women. We need to end this now.” —Marai Larasi, executive director, Imkaan
