Go Gosling!: Ryan Nabs Two Golden Globe Nominations

Nominations are lead by The Artist, The Descendants and The Help.

Ryan Gosling has two reasons to celebrate this morning. The London, Ontario born actor was nominated for two Golden Globes on Thursday, December 15: one for Actor In A Drama for The Ides of March and one for Actor In A Comedy for Crazy, Stupid, Love. Silent picture The Artist lead the nominations with six and George Clooney’s The Descendants and Emma Stone’s The Help followed closely with five nominations.

Surprises included the strong showing for Bridesmaids, which received “Best Motion Picture—Comedy or Musical” and “Best Performance by an Actress In A Motion Picture—Comedy” nominations. Less popular was The Tree of Life. Named Best Picture by the Toronto Critics’ Association, the existential drama was snubbed entirely.
