The show will go on for Rachel, Kurt and Finn. It turns out that Lea Michele, Chris Colfer and Cory Monteith won’t be leaving the cast of Glee when their characters graduate at the end of season three.
Two weeks ago Glee co-creator Ryan Murphy told The Hollywood Reporter that the big three wouldn’t be back for season four. “You can keep them on the show for six years and people will criticize you for not being realistic, or you can be really true to life and say when they started the show they were very clearly sophomores and they should graduate at the end of their senior year,” said Murphy.
But executive producer and co-creator of the show, Brad Falchuk, told a Comic-Con panel this weekend that Murphy was wrong. “They are not done with the show after this season. Because they’re graduating doesn’t mean they’re leaving the show” he said. “If you have Lea Michele under contract, you don’t say, ‘We’re gonna let you go.'”
Unfortunately for Chord Overstreet, the producers decided he was more dispensable. Falchuk said that Overstreet (who played, Sam, Glee’s answer to Justin Bieber) won’t be back for any episodes this fall. – Regan Reid
