Girls' Lena Dunham Chops Off Her Hair

The writer/actor/director opts for a cute pixie

This weekend, after wrapping the second season of Girls, Lena Dunham decided to do something drastic. “About to act in my last scene of season 2,” she tweeted. “Then it’s time to lose my voice and do something self destructive vis a vis my hair!”

She made good on her promise (well, maybe not the “destructive” part) by spending Saturday cropping her hair into a cute pixie before attending Rachel Antonoff’s spring 2013 runway show with boyfriend Jack Antonoff (brother of Rachel). The cut was inspired by Carey Mulligan, she told Fashionista at the event. “No one’s doing it better than her, so why not?”

Dunham kind of thinks she looks like a boy but “Whatever, it’s cool,” she says. We think the cut suits her quirky personality; plus, she looks trendy, confident and especially striking when wearing bright red lipstick.
