Our favourite bat-winged superhero just got a lot more glamorous. Giorgio Armani has designed costumes for the upcoming Batman flick, The Dark Knight Rises.
Along with outfitting other members of the Batman cast, including Anne Hathaway, Michael Caine, and Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Armani has created two custom suits for Batman’s alter-ego Bruce Wayne (played by Christian Bale). The two-button suits – one in charcoal grey pinstripe, another in grey plaid – even feature the customized label ‘Giorgio Armani for Bruce Wayne.’
“In the lexicon of superheroes, it’s an honour to be associated with such an intriguing character as Bruce Wayne,” said Armani. “I’m thrilled to play a small role in the Dark Knight legacy.”
The Armani label has worked with many other films in the past: along with the 2008 Batman flick The Dark Knight, Armani has also created looks for films like Mission: Impossible, The Untouchables and Inglourious Basterds. The Dark Knight Rises opens in theatres Friday, July 20, but premieres tonight at Toronto’s Scotiabank Theatre. – Christian Allaire
