FLARE Was There: DX Intersection 2012
Toronto's Design Exchange threw a big bash on Friday evening to celebrate their relaunch. Some 1,200 guests spread out over three floors of the museum, noshing on snacks from a host of caterers, including Daniel & Daniel and Elle Cuisine, bidding on silent auction items, such as an Ikea bookcase, refashioned by the evening's honoree, Douglas Coupland. A select few were pulled into an exclusive pop-up dinner by Parts & Labour, which featured Kobe beef tartare and a truffle bit coated in burnt marshmallow dust. FLARE teamed up with Dundas West gallery Milk Glass Co. to create custom fascinators that had everything from birds, flowers and feathers to mini-Christmas decorations and plastic food models.
