FLARE Was There: Operanation's Sweet Revenge Party
Toronto's theatre, arts and fashion community gathered inside the Four
Seasons Centre for the Performing Art to fete Operanation 9, an annual
benefit supporting the nation's rising opera stars. The three level
soiree included limited edition sweet treats by Toronto's own Nadège
Patisserie, a special performance by former FLARE cover star
Nelly Furtado and a grand finale by Hamilton's The Arkells. Surrounded
by floor to ceiling glasses inside the opera house's lobby, guests were
shielded from rain while listening in on a hot acoustic-style
performance by Furtado who spiced things up with an operatic duet and a
throwback to her radio hit Maneater. With that in mind, it's no surprise
the theme of the night was Sweet Revenge, inspired by Johann Strauss
II’s Die Fledermaus. From Nadège's spicy macarons to a champagne infused
berry drink, Operanation had everyone singing praise by the end of the
night.
