FLARE Was There: Fashion Soiree
In an evening of glamour and glitz, the Embassy of Canada in Washington, D.C. hosted its third annual Fashion Soirée on December 6th, in support of the Government of Canada’s Workplace Charitable Campaign (GCWCC). Featuring a fashion show and silent auction, the event showcased designers Laura Dreger, Nella Bella, Fluevog Shoes, Pedram Karimi, Lole, Brimble and Clark, Michael Kaye and Samuel Dong.
Last year, the GCWCC raised $21.4M across Canada for United Way, Health partners, and other registered Canadian charities. This year the Embassy alone fundraised an estimated $70,000. With more three hundred guests in attendance dressed in their best cocktail attire, the 2013 Fashion Soirée raised over $8,000 for the United Way charities.
