Q of the Day: Have We Reached Peak J.Lo?

Related Q: What has she done with Rihanna's denim Manolo Blahnik boots?

Jennifer Lopez just dropped the video for her new single, “Ain’t Your Mama,” undoubtedly hoping to secure a song-of-the-summer hit with the upbeat, ladies-get-yours tune. Unfortch for J.Lo, Justin Timberlake also released a new single and video (who knew May 6 was gonna be this huuuge?), for “Can’t Stop The Feeling,” where JT stealthily has his own Puppy Breaks mid-vid, as well as a few well-placed celeb cameos (oh heyyyy, James Corden and Anna Kendrick!).

But back to Jenny. The song is catchy, yes, but the lyrics are are a little silly at best (women screaming “I ain’t your mama” from their windows? Please, no). And the song just sounds dated, like something J.Lo should have put out at the same time as “On The Floor” or “Big Booty” (like, so 2011 and 2014, y’all).

While it may not be the women’s lib power anthem J. Lo was hoping for (we have Lemonade for that, TYVM), at least the video gives us an opp to marvel at how ageless La Lopez looks. (How does she do this year after year??) That is, until she struts onto the screen making a mess out of Rihanna’s Manolo Blahnik denim boots (which are on sale today and crashed the MB website, so good luck!). If you’re going to work these, you need to work a little harder than a body-hugging, white, long-sleeve body suit (a.k.a the most J.Lo clothing item ever), Mama.

So far, there has been no comment from camp Riri, who sent the boots to Lopez a few weeks ago (as seen on the former American Idol judge’s Instagram). But if you’re going to cop Riri’s style, you’re gonna have to do better. Period.

See for yourself below and let us know what you think: Have we reached peak J.Lo?
