Dîner En Blanc, Vancouver
A cascading white wave unfurled upon the city of Vancouver for the second annual Dîner en Blanc, an elegant outdoor dining affair birthed in Paris in 1988. On the sprawling green lawn of the TELUS World of Science, a location that had remained a secret up until that very moment, 2,500 people clothed in stylish whites arrived by foot, train, bus and boat with their carefully transported tables, chairs, and centrepieces. The international event, now held in almost 40 cities, was brought to Canada’s West Coast in 2012 by Tyson Villeneuve and Jordan Kallman of The Social Concierge, who this year expanded the grandiose occasion to Victoria and Calgary, and doubled the size of the Vancouver spectacle.
