When we think of Marc Jacobs, we think fashion, runways, Louis Vuitton, flirty fragrances…not “film actor”—but that’s all about to change. The talented designer has (temporarily) left behind the world of fashion design to join some of Hollywood’s elite on the big screen in Disconnect, in theatres April 12. The film follows numerous people trying to find human connections in today’s overly wired world and stars several up-and-coming celebrities. In his acting debut, Jacobs stars alongside Alexander Skarsgård, Paula Patton, Andrea Riseborough and Jason Bateman. Playing the controversial role of Harvey—who houses and pays children to talk about their sexual fantasies with online customers—Jacobs had to slip into some questionable fashion choices including some (gasp) acid-washed denim. Of his role he says, “I felt grateful to have the experience, and the cast and the crew were amazing, but it was like going into another world.”  He adds that this will probably be his first and last acting role, but to that we say, “Never say never!”
