This year marked the first ever Canadian Screen Awards (a new combination of the previously separate Geminis and Genies) and fashion journalist extraordinaire Jeanne Beker—dressed in black Chanel—was presented with the Academy Achievement Award for her contributions to Canadian TV.  Best known for her work as the host of Fashion Television, on air from 1985 to 2012, Jeanne not only contributed to Canadian television, but to the Canadian fashion world in general. Last week, on the way to the presentation where Jeanne received the first award of the night, she tweeted, “On my way to the Cdn Screen Awards decked out in my old Chanel—homage to Karl Lagerfeld who taught me never to look back!” With many years under her belt and undoubtedly many to come, never looking back may just be the secret to Jeanne’s success.
