British model Jourdan Dunn has been showing off her kitchen skills in her new web cooking show, Well Dunn with Jourdan Dunn. The first installment of the show, which Dunn created for Jay Z’s Life and Times website, features the 22-year-old giving tutorials on making jerk pork, Caribbean salsa and rice and beans.
“And you know what’s even funny?” said Dunn in the video. “I should be a pro at this ‘cause sometimes, in my kitchen, I do pretend I have my own cooking show.”
And like any good cooking show host, Dunn shares a few personal stories including what it was like to work on Vogue Italia’s July 2008 so-called “All Black” issue. She said photographer Steven Meisel put her at ease even though she was super nervous to be working with him. She also mentioned how she didn’t want to leave the set after she wrapped shooting.
“And then I saw Iman working and I was like, ‘Oh my god, oh my god, oh my god. You know what? I’m just going to stay and just watch all the super models just come by,’” Dunn confessed.
The model also briefly talked about the demands of motherhood (she has a three-year-old son).
“So yeah, [when] he loves it, he’s like, ‘Mmm! That’s nice! Mmm, this is nice!’” she said. “And if he doesn’t like it, he will spit it out.”’
While we hope she doesn’t quit modeling anytime soon, we wouldn’t be complaining if she rose through the cooking show ranks like former model and current Top Chef host, Padma Lakshmi. She definitely has the charisma for own television production.
