It was off to the races this past weekend for Toronto’s fashionable set—the annual million-dollar Queen’s Plate had everyone galloping to their closets for their most sumptuous headwear and sprightliest summer frocks. Ladies staved off the heat with old-fashioned fans and huge sun hats, while dudes gallantly sweated it out in cute suits and old-timey chapeaux. The horsey set clustered around the paddock to check out the ponies on parade (best name of the day: Conquest Boogaloo), and those needing a libation hightailed it into the shade of the many tents set up for the Hats & Horseshoes event, i.e. The fanciest tailgating party ever. Rethink had the chicest set-up in the Rethink At the Races VIP tent, featuring live fashion portraits, a bubbles bar, flowing Caesars, a make-your-own fascinator station, and manis from The Ten Spot. Giddy-up!
