Kristen Stewart has confirmed she will star opposite Ben Affleck in an upcoming comedy titled Focus, reports The Huffington Post.
“It’s a comedy. I’m really excited about it. We start shooting in April,” Stewart told the news site.
According to IMDb, Affleck will play an experienced con artist who “takes an attractive young woman under his wing (Stewart), but things get complicated when they become romantically involved.” The romantic storyline could mean a potential love scene or two between the 22-year-old Twilight star and the 44-year-old Affleck, reports Hollywood Life.
The comedy will mark a departure for Stewart. Asides from a handful of kid-friendly films pre-Twilight days, the actress has chosen more serious projects during her downtime.
Her latest dramatic role as Marylou in the film adaptation of Jack Kerouac’s classic, On the Road, has garnered Stewart some serious buzz on the film festival circuit and could give her a shot at an Academy Award nomination for best supporting actress.
In addition, the buzz surrounding On the Road will have the actress hitting press circuit hard, setting Stewart up perfectly for more amazing red carpet moments.
