3 New V. Chill Albums You'll Swoon Over

The Syracuse, N.Y., ensemble appeared eight years ago, playing preppy pop rock à la Vampire Weekend. On Need Your Light, their fourth studio album, the band swaps violin strings for crystalline synths and colossal choruses. The feels here are both nostalgic (check out the bobbing disco bass line on “Bouncy Castle” and ’80s-era Springsteen of “Call Me Out”) and fresh, like in the hooky singles “Absolutely” and “Water.”
