Snoop Dogg and Nicki Minaj made shock appearances at what Drake called “one of the greatest nights of my life” Sunday, August 5. His third annual OVO Fest, a sold-out show held at Molson Amphitheatre in Toronto, cemented its reputation for jaw-dropping cameos, after Eminem, Jay-Z, Nas and Stevie Wonder made huge guest appearances a tradition in previous years.

Snoop Dogg introduced himself under his current reggae pseudonym “Snoop Lion” before singing hits “I Wanna Love You” and “Drop It Like It’s Hot.” Minaj, channeling hooker Barbie in a pink pleather blazer and matching panties with thigh-high leather high-heeled boots, joined Drake on “Make Me Proud” before performing her hit “Bees In The Trap” with opener 2 Chainz. “Some people get on a plane and represent for what I believe in, which is this city,” Drake said after Minaj’s performance. “So I have to thank my future wife, Nicki Minaj!”

Along with announced acts A$AP Rocky and Drake’s R&B protégé The Weeknd, surprise appearances were made by Rick Ross, Waka Flocka Flame, Meek Mill, and French Montana. Clearly Drake needs more room for his ever expanding social circle. Next year’s show, he announced, will be held at the Rogers Centre. Capacity: 55, 000. –Ryan Porter
