The New York author is teaching us how to get classy with his new self-help guide

Do Canadian women need a dose of class?  Derek Blasberg seems to think so. The New York-based fashion writer and author of Classy flew in yesterday with model Byrdie Bell to promote his glossy guidebook and attend a party in his honour. Hosted by the always-classy Suzanne Rogers (clad in a gingham frock by Christopher Kane), guests gathered at The Spoke Club in Toronto last night to toast what Blasberg has coined “exceptional advice for the extremely modern lady.”  All of the city’s loveliest ladies came out including Fashion Television‘s Jeanne Beker, a coterie of FLARE-ettes, downtown socials as well as Canadian designers Jeremy Laing and Stephen Wong, and Kirk Pickersgill of Greta Constantine. The fete was nothing short of fabulous and Blasberg himself appeared a bit overwhelmed by the response to his book, adding “I just really, really hope people like it.”  We don’t think he has much to worry about; Classy just reached The New York Times Best Sellers list. Classy indeed.
