Why? Theory of a Deadman is quickly becoming one of Canada’s most popular rock bands gaining even more recognition from the Juno Awards and MuchMusic’s MMVA’s.
Origin: Vancouver, Canada
Little known fact: The members of Theory of a Deadman grew up within six blocks of one another.

Flare: What does the word “style” mean to you?
Dean Back: “My style is just picking up whatever I can from video shoots [laughs]. I’m just a jeans and t-shirt kind of guy.”

F: What’s your biggest fashion pet peeve?
D.B.: “The mod look on guys. Women call pull it off, but it just looks weird on men. The pants that are so big they look like skirts, it’s just not cool.”

F: What’s in your CD player right now?
D.B.: “I’m loving the new Buckcherry album.”

F: What is the one album everyone should own?
D.B.:Buckcherry or Dark New Day.”

F: What’s the one item you can’t leave home without?
D.B.: “My laptop and my digital camera. I have to keep in touch with my family.”

F: What was the last book you read?
D.B.:The DaVinci Code.”

F: What was the last movie you saw?
D.B.:Hostel, it was your typical guy movie with lots of T&A and gore, but it blew some time on the tour bus.”

F: What is your favourite travel destination?
D.B.: “Europe is awesome. Before the band was well-known, I did the back-packing thing and had a great time. We were recently in Halifax for the Junos and that was really cool. I love the east coast.”

F: Where have you not been that you’d love to go?
D.B.: “Australia and Japan.”

F: Who do you most admire?
D.B.: “In this business, anyone who can have a lasting career.”

F: How would you like to be remembered?
D.B.: “As a nice guy who was a good friend.”
