When: April 30
Where: Milk Studios, New York
Actress Freida Pinto loves fashion and it showed on-set as she cooed over the racks of glittering fall dresses. Freida is petite so fashion director Elizabeth Cabral chose body-skimming designs with embellishments from sequins to lace. Freida’s favourites included a ruffled Giambattista Valli frock (worn on the cover) and a feathered mini by Naeem Khan. For the last shot, she burst into an exuberant chicken dance inspired by the mini’s feathers.
While getting her hair done, Freida spoke wistfully about Montreal (her favourite Canadian city) and an upcoming visit to the Jazz Festival. She also dished about The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s gala—just days away—and showed a BlackBerry shot of her Chanel gown.
“Freida has very fine, silky hair,” noted L’Oréal Paris consulting hairstylist Johnny Lavoy. To give her locks long-lasting volume and bounce, he started with Hair Expertise Nutri-Shimmer Shine Detangling Care, followed by Studio Line Silk & Gloss Volume Mousse and Elnett Satin Hairspray.
Makeup artist Matin was inspired by our red satin backdrop for Freida’s sultry makeup. To get a look like Freida’s try: Infallible Le Rouge Lipstick in Ravishing Red, $13, and La Couleur Infallible Eye Shadow in Endless Chocolate, $11, both L’Oréal.
Watch Now: On-set with Freida Pinto for our October 2011 cover shoot in New York.
