Shoe designer Stuart Weitzman received the Lifetime Achievement Award from Footwear News with a special tribute video from Beyoncé, Wednesday night.
Weitzman was presented with the award and video during a ceremony at New York City’s Museum of Modern Art.
“When I first met Stuart, I saw his kindness, his warmth and his passion for his craft,” said Beyoncé in video. “His creations are a reflection of his genuine, beautiful, personality.”
The shoe designer not only counts the singer as a fan, but also as a collaborator. The two have worked together to design the shoes she wears on stage.
“My performances can last more than two hours sometimes, so I need comfort as well as style,” said Beyoncé. “After countless tours and TV performances and special concerts, I have literally danced a thousand miles in his beautiful shoes.”
Though he might’ve celebrated his company’s 25th anniversary just in 2011, Weitzman shows no sign of slowing down. Weitzman unveiled SW1, his luxury shoe and hand bag line, in Milan earlier this year.
