Richard Avedon auction

As one of the founding fathers of fashion photography, Richard Avedon left a legacy of lasting imagery. As if five books, three shows and a catalogue of archives since his death in ’04 weren’t enough, The Richard Avedon Foundation has plenty of projects in the works, including a Nov. 20 auction at Christie’s Paris. Sixty original pieces will be up for grabs apparently, including a massive masterpiece from 1955 called Dovima With Elephants, which hung in the famed photographer’s studio for 30 years.—Stacie Brockman
