A Rae of Sunshine

Corinne Bailey Rae is back

by

Remember when Corinne Bailey Rae’s happy little pop ditty, “Put Your Records On” made us smile with every radio play? After her self-titled debut in 2006 and the death of her husband in 2008, the rising singer retreated from the music scene. She returns from her much-needed break with The Sea, a sophomore album that contains the highs and lows of the past two years but loses none of the hope and sincerity that made her a pop darling.  FYI: In addition to appearing at Coachella—alongside acts such as MGMT and The xx—Rae’s also playing at the newly revived Lilith Fair, and heading to Canada in April, with shows in Vancouver and Montreal. – Mishal Cazmi
