Among the hundreds of thousands of videos uploaded daily to YouTube, surely there must be a work of art. This is the premise the Guggenheim museum’s currators were working off of when they decided to host the exhibit, YouTube Play: A Biennial of Creative Video. After viewing 23,000 submissions from 91 countries, a shortlist of 125 videos has been made. And six of the videos are from Canadian artists. One of the standouts is the Oscar nominated short film I Met the Walrus. Final selections will be shown in an exhibit happening simultaneously at the museum’s branches in Berlin, Venice, Bilbao and New York, October 22-24.
