Think Tinder is tough? Try finding love among the fickle Hollywood set, with its perpetual game of lovelorn musical chairs. Celebs often date other celebs because they understand each other’s lifestyle and the pressures of fame in a way regular civilians don’t—but competing egos, crazy schedules and media attention (mostly competing egos) often tear them apart. Maybe pop stars and actors should be looking elsewhere for a match: hidden within the juice bars and spin studios of Hollywood is an unknown, famous-adjacent dating pool filled with people who can roll with celebrities like it’s NBD. They’re the children of rock stars, politicians, actors, studio execs, athletes; they’ve lived the lifestyle of the rich and famous, and they’re not fazed by a red carpet or a tabloid cover but not thirsty for the spotlight either. Is almost-famous plus famous the perfect recipe for lasting Hollywood love? Here are five such couples who are going strong (so far).
Bella Thorne and Brandon Lee
The son of Pam and Tommy is all grown up, and can we just say, he’s a total Baldwin? (He’s 18, we can say that.) He and The DUFF star Bella Thorne are coupled up on Instagram, posing for Malibu sunset selfies and Nobu date nights.
Britney Spears and Charlie Ebersol
The pop princess everyone has a soft spot for has been the Goldilocks of celebrity dating: she tried a famous person (too hot) and a backup dancer (too cold), but could Charlie Ebersol, producer and son of SNL co-creator Dick Ebersol, be jusssttt right? If her new People cover is any indication, she’s happier than ever.
Chloë Grace Moretz and Brooklyn Beckham
A model and an actress dating is not exactly groundbreaking, but when that model is Brooklyn Beckham, oldest son of Victoria and David, and the actress is Kick-Ass and If I Stay star Chloë Grace Moretz, teenage romance becomes tabloid fodder. While they never officially confirmed they’ve been making out under the bleachers (that’s what teenagers do, right?), at 16 and 18, we aren’t expecting TL4Ever.
Tobey Maguire and Jennifer Meyer
This is the stuff romcoms (and Entourage subplots) are made of: after a movie set meet-cute, a girl from the right side of the tracks with a roster of friends and family in high places (including her father, Ron Meyer, former president of Universal Studios) and a silver-screen superhero get married in Hawaii and have two adorable children. Bonus: Uncle Leo (as in, DiCaprio) is an on-call babysitter.
Miley Cyrus and Patrick Schwarzenegger
Miley’s transformed from a clean-cut Disney star with a Hemsworth on her arm to a cartoonishly sexy stoner with a Schwarzenegger by her side. While Miley and Patrick (son of Arnold and Maria Shriver) have reportedly hit a rough patch after spring break photos captured Patrick doing body shots off a “friend” in Cabo (rude!), we still think this is one of the most interesting matches to ever come out of Hollywood. Who would have thought a Kennedy and a Cyrus might cross-pollinate?
