Workout-Friendly Makeup You Don't Need to Remove

Running straight from the office to the gym? Here are three products that make it OK to skip the makeup remover

As Roshes and hoodies take over our closets, the athleisure trend is creeping into our makeup bags too, with a new slew of products that work just as well on the street as they do in your boxing class. “We’re rushing to fit it all in, and most of us just don’t have the time to add a routine of removing and reapplying makeup,” says Eva Redpath, Canada’s Nike master trainer who’s seen an uptick in hurried exercise buffs wearing makeup to her classes.

Sound familiar? Don’t sweat it, says Toronto dermatologist Dr. Julia Carroll. “The health benefits of working out far outweigh the hazards of wearing makeup during that work out,” she says. “I don’t wear a lot of makeup, and I leave it on during my spin classes and weekly pilates. But I always make sure to give my face a good wash right after.”

Here, three beauty brands vying for space in your gym bag:

Arrow Cooling Cheek Tint, $24 (available in Canada until April 30)

Talk about double-duty: Arrow’s gel-based cheek tint has a cooling effect on skin, and the moisturizing lip balm also adds a touch of custom pink based on your pH levels.

Eyeko Sport Waterproof Mascara, $38

New to the Beauty Underground Hudson’s Bay Queen Street in Toronto, this British brand makes two Sport products: a coconut-oil-infused eyeliner that’s water- and smudge- proof; and a mascara that can withstand H2O and excess sebum.
