Tuesday Test-Drive: Skin So Soft

We put sugar scrubs to the test

by

Exfoliating year-round is a must for a smooth, creamy bod, but Winter blahs make this shower ritual compulsory. A sugar scrub is ideal for gently sloughing away dead skin cells and banning scaly skin. We picked up these three and tested them in the shower all holiday long:

Neutrogena Sugar Scrub Body Exfoliator in Energizing Citrus, $10: This scrub has a sweet lemon meringue-like fragrance. It has an oilier residue than the rest, but it’s great for extra-dry spots like elbows, knees, and feet. Available across Canada at Shopper’s Drug Mart.

Bath & Body Works Signature Collection Body Scrub in Sea Island Cotton, $17: While we’d probably pick a different scent next time (this one reminds us a bit of doing laundry) this scrub was tops of the bunch. The sugar crystals were grainer than the rest, resulting in the best “scrubby” feeling. Available across Canada at Bath & Body Works.

Bliss Blood Orange and White Pepper Sugar Scrub, $38:  The smell is pleasant and the uber-lathering formula is great for those who want a scrub to double as a cleanser for daily use.  Call 1-877-SEPHORA.
