Tuesday Test-Drive: Mascaras with Buzz

Check out our latest Tuesday Test-Dive with vibrating mascaras

Admittedly, none of us can resist the temptation of a new mascara, especially if said mascara promises fancy new hardware and better-than-ever lashes. The latest crop of fringe fixers offer fancy, vibrating wands that claim to create more volume, curl, and separation. We tried out these two options: Mayebelline New York Pulse Perfection Vibrating Mascara, $19, and Estée Lauder TurboLash All Effects Motion Mascara, $39.

Love it: Both formulas had a similar “vibe” and gave us great lashes––however, neither performed better than our usual wand. The Maybelline formula has a non-bristle brush and was actually more user-friendly thanks to its already installed battery. The Estée Lauder has a more traditional brush that also works well, but we found ourselves struggling with its hardware for over 10 minutes!

Leave It: The bristles don’t actually seem to move much, which still leaves us to do most of the work manually and with more focus (holding a buzzing wand takes practice!)
